Week 6 - Ophelia Pain

I recently went home for the weekend, and after seeing Ophelia again I just had to take her back to university with me. She has such an innocent look about her that makes her look eerily adorable. Ophelia's facial design is amazing. Her big hair reminds me of a lion's mane and her firey eyes suggest that she has an attitude. This is all offset by her serene smile and rounded cheeks, giving her a look of uncertainty. Her clothes are adorable. Her cute stripey straight jacket is so detailed and covers up whilst showing a lot of skin at the same time.

I'm so happy that Ophelia has such a big part in the new comic books. She has so much character. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that she is my favourite 7" BEGoth EVER.

Week 5 - Back to School Storm

In light of the recent publication of the lovely Red Riding Storm of Series 5, I thought that I would concentrate on Series 3's Back to School Storm this week. I feel that she is overlooked somewhat when looking at all the variations of Storm. She hasn't really got a very explicitly 'goth' look with her white hair and blue make-up.
However, there are a lot of positives about this girl. I for one think that she is one of the more unusual looking dolls with her dazzling white hair. On a sunny day she looks absolutely stunning! I also love the blue colour scheme which she shares only with Angelina. Her outfit is so simple too - it really does resemble a normal school uniform, but Storm manages to pull the look off so well! It must be the big stomper boots she's wearing. In a way Storm has the stereotypical naughty school girl look - innocent but sexy!
The detail in the Series 4 dolls is astounding, and this can be seen in Storm's black nail varnish. This detail is so brilliantly done!
For those collectors who prefer the raven haired beauties, then there is a Crypt Club Exclusive of this doll. I love this version of Back to School Storm, but I have to say that the regular version is my favourite.

Week 4 - Suzisin Ful

I decided that Suzisin Ful would be my Doll of the Week after taking some photos of her (see them here). She is from the second series of Bleeding Edge Goths, yet having owned her for a while, I have only just started noticing how beautiful she actually is.
Suzisin is dressed in a traditional style kimono, showing of her curves yet still looking elegant. Unlike the other dolls, she has no shoes on, something that I think makes her very cute!
However, I think the most striking aspect of her appearance is her hair and make-up. Suzisin's hair is a fantastic display of how precise the company is when making their dolls - one half is black, the other half white, and after having the doll for a few years she hasn't got a hair out of place!
Her face is painted to look traditional, but with a twist. The green of her eyes are beautifully offset by her thick magenta eye-shadow, which then stands out from her bright red lips. The vibrant colours are gorgeous and give her an exotic feel.
There is also a Crypt Club variant of Suzisin Ful in black and red, giving her a firey appearance. However, I think that the original would still be my favourite.

Week 3 - Lunabella Whispers

Lunabella Whispers is possibly my favourite 7" Vinyl Doll to date. She comes in three variations, so whether you like your dolls dark and moody or bright and spunky, Lunabella is a definite must have for any collection.

Lunabella is the Rock-a-Billy vamp of the Bleeding Edge collection. With her Mohawk, tattoo and figure hugging skirt and jacket, she is one of a kind in the 7" collection. Her enormous bat wings also make her one of a kind, although you can’t forget about Angelica Noir.

Members of the Bleeding Edge forum had stated that they would love it if the company would design dolls with wings, so Lunabella was an answer to their prayers. She stands as proof that the Bleeding Edge Company care about their loyal collectors and will do their utmost to please them.

Aside from the regular version of Lunabella, there are two other versions. The first is available through the Crypt Club and is limited to 500 pieces. She looks very vibrant in her metallic red outfit with blue flame detail. I love how she looks so different to the regular version, it makes a collector like myself feel justified in spending more money! The second is an exclusive made for CornerStoreComics. This is my personal favourite of the three, but I’m just a sucker for anything that is shiny and purple. Her violet clothes with yellow detail really does wonders for this doll. It’s amazing to see how unique she is, even with two other versions of her.
My overall verdict is that Lunabella Whispers is a must-have doll for any collection, as she perfectly characterises the fun nature of Rock whilst maintaining a sultry appeal.

Week 2 - Victoria Creeper

I decided that this blonde bombshell would be a great choice for the second entry of 'Doll of the Week'. I was quite surprised when a friend of mine who had never seen the dolls before picked her out as his favourite, and it got me thinking that this girl doesn't get the coverage she deserves.
Victoria's clothes are elegant yet edgey and, in my humble opinion, make her look like a female Willy Wonka minus the top hat. Her dazzling cropped light blonde hair really stands out against her gorgeous dark purple suit, making her look very different to the rest of the collection. She was also the first doll to have multiple facial piercings, so until the release of Series 3, that made her unique. Her lips are made more prominent by her very simple eye makeup which makes her look slightly ghostly.
Victoria has an alter ego. On my last birthday I received the varient version of Victoria with her black suit and shocking pink hair. She looks slightly less elegant than her blonde haired counterpart, but pink haired Victoria is a very fun looking doll. She's not available from the Official Site, but US collectors can find her here and UK collectors here.

Week 1 - Raven Dragonfire

This little lady was the first Bleeding Edge doll I ever bought and therefore has a very special place in my collection. From her black and purple hair down to her chunky boots, Raven Dragonfire is by far my favourite BEGoths doll. Even her name is perfect!
Although her over all style is very classical goth, there are some extra details that put a modern twist on her ensemble. The most noticeable of these is her bold makeup - this girl is very daring when it comes to eyeliner! Her corseted dress is also very detailed, one of the signiture marks of the fine craftsmanship of the company. Her contemporary fishnet gloves complete her outfit - it will never cease to impress me that they managed to make fishnet so miniture!
My overall thought is that this gorgeous doll is a must-have for any collection as she brings out all that is dark, mysterious and beautiful about gothic fashion!
